Raymond Pecher, Late Nite Pie Manager, Accused of Arson (Read the Criminal Complaint)

Raymond Pecher charged with second-degree felony.

The manager of Montrose's Late Nite Pie has been charged with setting the February blaze that destroyed the semi-legendary restaurant.

Court documents say Raymond Pecher, 45, was seen leaving the building a little before 4 a.m. February 8, about ten minutes before smoke was first detected. A security cam across the street caught him leaving in a Chevrolet Astro van.

Two other men had been seen entering the building before that and leaving with a bench they loaded into an SUV.

Four different origin fires were discovered by arson investigators, and accelerant was also detected.

Pecher is charged with a felony count of arson.

Pecher denied any wrongdoing to investigators.

Can't believe this has been up since Friday and no one has questioned the alleged "Montrose" location. Neither the original location nor the burn site were in any definition of Montrose that I'd consider accurate.

Any surprise here? The dubious track record of Late Nite Pie screamed arson. I can think of at least one other restaurant that met a similar fate (yet got away with it).

What's the other restaurant? I can't think of one off the top of my head.

I was thinking of La Strada. The top shelf liquor disappeared right before the fire.

I thought it the owner of the store next door torched his store, then it spread to agoras. I only say this because that store was belligerently expensive and I never saw many people leave with merchandise.
