Michael Young caught after an Austin robbery.
Michael Elbert Young, the sex offender who became the fifth person in 18 months to escape from a privatized halfway house on the Old Beaumont Highway, has been caught.

KTRK reports that Young was captured in Austin today "after an alleged robbery where he is accused of choking a woman and stealing a ring and other belongings early Tuesday morning."

The $7,500 Texas Crime Stoppers reward will not be paid since a tip did not lead to his arrest.

He escaped April 5 from the Southeast Texas Transitional Center in the 10900 block of Old Beaumont Highway by jumping over a barbed-wire fence.

STTC is owned by the GEO Group, a company we examined in a feature story called "Prison Pays."

Its a Halfway House, how some one can scape from a place that it is not a jail? Half way houses are for reintegration of persons who have been recently released from prison or jail.
