Aggies Fail Geography with New SEC Shirt

Categories: Education, Sports

The Texas A&M Aggies are really excited to join the SEC. Just think of all those great road trips to Florida, Alabama and...North Carolina?

Apparently the Aggies think North Carolina has a team in the SEC, because they included it on a league map featured on a shirt that went up for sale today.

"We may be new to the conference, but we aren't new to the game," the shirt says. It features the SEC logo and a map of states purportedly in the conference.

Maybe the Ags were hoping to play Duke.

The Aggies also forgot Missouri, which also is a new kid on the SEC block.

And if you're thinking they forgot Texas, don't worry -- it's on the back.

And -- to give credit where credit is due -- the rest of the states on the shirt do have SEC teams. So in terms of batting average, the Aggies did pretty good.

But in insulting the aggies (I am not one), you might want to check your grammer, Mr. Connelly. The last sentence should read, "So in terms of batting average, the Aggies did pretty WELL." Good is incorrect. Though the t-shirt is obviously a big fail. My Texas Tech buddies would love it!

I guess an Aggie wrote this article as well, using good instead of well in the last sentence.

the company that printed the shirts corrected it immediately and handled the whole situation with decorum. Let's not try and make more of this than it is. The Aggies didn't print it. A company that prints Aggie items made the mistake. Slow news day?

They also left OFF Missouri

Sounds like this shirt was a simple mistake, it happens.  THIS shirt on the other hand....

Is not a mistake and something they are currently selling.  Freaks.

It was probably designed by a copy that hires t-sips.

@ea91f723ae81042e8690a083415be702:disqus I hear this statement a lot, that the south has poor collegiate academics. What exactly is the grounding? I don't recall reading (at least not recently) that UA, LSU, or AU or any of the other schools in the SEC have poor standards. Instead, I hear a lot from UA about neutrino particle physics, and advances in mathematics, physics, astronomy, and even architecture from LSU. Granted, the awesomely hilarious shirt mistake above is pretty spectacular and deserves some harsh criticism on it's creators' part. I'm just wondering why southern colleges seem to get ragged on a lot.

It looks like they should have no problem fitting in with the others academically.

Ags being ags, nothing surprising here.

*Aggies. There is no apostrophe when something is plural. Maybe before ripping on A&M you could check something as simple as your own grammar.

I love Aggie.  They commit their normal moronic move and then somehow throw in a tsip comment.  No Aggie, you made a fool of yourself again.  Accept your place in life.

If it is an officially licensed shirt, then it has to be approved by the University before it goes on sale.

then why is North Carolina in there??

Because "I love Aggie" is grammatically correct and isn't a moronic comment at all...
