Clint Cannon, bareback riding
True cowboys are hard to find, but not at the Houston Rodeo. Life on the road leads them here this time every year for the biggest rodeo in the world, where they'll ride and wrangle livestock for cash and glory. Each day, Hair Balls will spotlight one person with enough dirt on his boots to call himself a cowboy -- and mean it.

Name: Clint Cannon
Age: 33
Hometown: Waller, Texas
Event: Bareback Riding

I was born within a mile of Reliant Stadium at Texas Women's Hospital. I grew up, went to high school and still live in Waller.

I've been bareback riding professionally for 11 years. I've won Rodeo Houston two out of the last three years.

My favorite part about rodeoing is Houston because it's my hometown. Everybody that I went to high school with, all my relatives and everybody that I've known forever gets to come and watch me ride. Plus it's one of the biggest rodeos, so that's kind of cool.

When I'm not rodeoing, I do lots of stuff. I like to work out, surf, hunt...all of the good athletic stuff. I like to surf the G-Town Brown -- I've surfed in El Salvador and California -- but whenever the waves are up at the G-Town Brown, I'm hitting it. I check the report all of the time. Whenever there's a south wind picking up, I go check it out.

If I wasn't rodeoing, I'd probably be a millionaire by now. Somewhere, somehow, some way. I don't know how. I'd just be a millionaire!

I played college football at Stephen F. Austin. I was a fullback. I used to be big, like 225 pounds. Now I'm at 175. We ran the wishbone in high school and the I-formation in college. I ran for 1,000 yards in high school, but in college I'd get maybe one or two touches a game.
