John "Steven" Stark: The FBI Defends Calling This Dude "Tall, Dark & Handsome" (UPDATED)
De gustibus non est disputandum, as they say in Latin, which basically means some people's taste sucks but there's no sense arguing with them about it.

But we had to take issue with the FBI declaring bank robber John "Steven" Stark, pictured above, as being "tall, dark and handsome."
Stark, who is wanted in connection with robberies in Houston and Beaumont, was ID'd today thanks to tips from the public, FBI spokesperson Shauna Dunlap says.
Dunlap is the one who came up with the "tall, dark and handsome" nickname, and she stood her ground with us.
"If you look especially at the photos of him in a pressed, button-down white shirt, to me as a woman he looks more like he's going on a date than robbing a bank," said Dunlap, barely able to contain herself.

She says witnesses to Stark's robberies had described him as "tall" and "handsome."
"We also noted that he wasn't wearing a wedding ring," Dunlap said, and although we were on the phone, we imagine she was fanning her face to try to keep cool. "That was an appeal to single women, not maybe because they'd like to date him, but to get them to look closer at the picture."
The strategy worked: The tips came. Stark is on the run, believed to be driving a silver 2006 Toyota Corolla 4-door sedan with Texas license plate 699XPW.
He's 46, six feet tall, weighs approximately 230 pounds and carries it well, if the FBI is to be believed.

In other bank robber news, the guy who robbed a bank on Holcombe wearing a Rice University hat has been arrested, Dunlap says. Aaron Joseph Copeland was taken into custody last evening at his attorney's office.
Update: Stark was arrested Wednesday morning as he was getting a taxi outside a Beaumont mall, the FBI says.
