Douglas Demmon: Former National Park Ranger Convicted of Child Porn

Retired ranger, child-porn fan.

And then there are the Park Rangers like Galveston's Douglas Demmon, who has entered a guilty plea on charges of distributing child porn.

Demmon, 65, is retired from his park ranger job, but he was arrested in April after investigators discovered he "was e-mailing child pornography to other unknown individuals over the Internet," prosecutors say.

A search warrant was obtained, and Demmon's two computers were found to have child porn on them.

"All of the images involved prepubescent females, from approximately five to ten years of age," the U.S. Attorney's Office said. "In one image, there are two prepubescent females and one prepubescent male engaging in sexually explicit conduct."

Demmon will be sentenced in May and faces a minimum sentence of five to a maximum of 20 years imprisonment as well as a maximum $250,000 fine.

In other child-porn news, the commercial pilot who had one of the largest caches of such material in recent memory also entered a guilty plea today.

Todd Steven Ewanko, 47, of Humble, was arrested in July 2010 after investigators found "more than six encrypted 1 terabyte hard drives with millions of images of child sexual abuse images."
