Daniel Huerta: Lufkin's Illegal Wee Hours Door-to-Door Poultry Peddler

Daniel Huerta: To quote Waylon Jennings, we don't think Colonel Sanders ever done it this way.
"Intoxicated male selling chickens door-to-door" is not the most common after-midnight call for police to field, even in a wild-and-woolly town like Lufkin, but according to KTRE, police there had just such a case over the weekend.

Sgt. Scott Cagnon told the station that his officers found 33-year-old Daniel Ramirez Huerta attempting to peddle yard-bird parts to sleepy, evidently angry Lufkinites at 3 a.m. Saturday morning. And you thought those steak salesmen were annoying when they came by around sundown.

The cocky early-bird salesman may look satisfied with his novel business plan in his mug shot, and he certainly has that optimistic attitude all great salesmen must have, but police were not amused.

He was charged with public intoxication, failure to identify / providing false information, and seven other charges relating to misdemeanor warrants for unpaid traffic tickets.

On the plus side, at least they didn't cite him for having his poultry stored at an improper temperature.
