The Weather Outside Is Frightful (with Photos)
You wanted rain, you're getting it.![]()
It's no time to be on the road
You're also getting a reported tornado touchdown in Fort Bend County and flooded service roads and intersections.
Power is out in some areas of the city; others have lost internet service.
Reports coming in from TxDOT and various tweeters indicated impassable conditions at such locations as Beltway 8 and Memorial Drive, Beltway 8 and the Katy, the service roads near the Westpark Tollway and 59 and Weslayan and Bissonnet. There will be more, as we're under a flash flood warning.
The Fort Bend tornado was reportedly near FM 1093 at FM 723.
Keep dry and safe out there -- don't get on the road if you don't need to. If you do, the Houston TranStar page is a good place to keep track of road conditions.
