Claus: Not the suspect.
Employees of a northeast-side gas station probably were feeling a little low about 4 a.m. December 19.

First, because they were working at a freaking gas station at 4 a.m. in the morning. Second, because they had just had a pistol waved in their faces by a robber demanding cash.

All those blues magically went away, we're sure, when the robber turned back at the door and they heard him exclaim, ere he drove out of sight, "Y'all have a Merry Christmas."

Truly a Christmas miracle.

Crime Stoppers and the Harris County Sheriff's Office today released video of the incident and are asking for the public's help in catching the robber, who also "pointed the pistol at several patrons" as he ran through the parking lot, the agencies said.

The suspect is described as a thin black male, 20-30 years old, standing between 5-7 and 5-9 and weighing 150-160 pounds. "At the time of the offense, he was wearing a white thermal long-sleeve shirt, a baseball cap, black pants and dark shoes," Crime Stoppers said.

Anyone with information about the identity of the suspect is asked to contact Crime Stoppers of Houston at 713-222-TIPS (8477).
