Frankly, we were shocked when we started seeing on the web so much talk about how Florida has the country's craziest criminals.

Had everyone forgotten about Texas? Surely the Lone Star State could stack its insane and inane perpetrators up against anyone.

So that's what we decided to do. Our John Nova Lomax picked the best Texas contenders for each of 10 categories; our sister paper Miami New Times picked their candidates; and Pete Kotz, former editor of True Crime Report, determined the winner. Kotz, by the way, is obviously either an idiot, horribly biased or bribed.
