A man was beaten to death in Montrose around noon Friday.

Media reports say an altercation occurred at the Scott Childress Studio salon in the 1700 block of Welch.
Police say they received a call for medical help, and found a man severely beaten who soon died.
KHOU reports a second man went into a nearby HPD substation "and told officers he may have badly injured another person during an altercation."
KHOU says, "Authorities said the man who admitted to being involved was released. Police continue to look for him."
