Wilmer Farley III: Charged with intoxication manslaughter.
A drunk driver killed a man riding in a mobility scooter who had his infant son on his lap, Houston police say.

Intoxication manslaughter charges have been filed against Wilmer Farley III, 20, who police say was drunk when the accident occurred about 3 p.m. yesterday.

Clifford Johnson, 56, was riding in his four-wheeled scooter, with his one-year-old son, in the 9300 block of West Montgomery on the north side, police say.

"Johnson maneuvered into a moving lane of traffic to avoid water and mud on the sidewalk when his scooter was struck by a silver Ford Explorer, driven by Farley, northbound on West Montgomery," HPD says.

Johnson was taken to a hospital and died; his son was treated for minor injuries and released to family members.
