Suspect in rape/assault.
Houston police have released a composite sketch of the man suspected of assaulting and raping a woman on the west side earlier this month.

The woman was near the intersection of South Gessner and Harwin about 6:30 a.m., December 4, police say, when the attack occurred.

A "Ford Bronco or Chevrolet Tahoe, was maroon with a maroon cloth interior," pulled up to the woman and the suspect forced her into the vehicle, HPD says.

He then drove her to a nearby vacant lot where he assaulted and raped her. She managed to escape to a nearby apartment complex and call police.

The suspect is described as "a white or Hispanic male, about 30 to 40 years old, 5 feet 9 inches tall with an average build and muscular legs. The suspect has black or brown hair and brown eyes."

Anyone with information about this case or any possible related cases is urged to contact the HPD Sex Crimes Unit at 713-308-1180 or Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.
