Chron's Richard Justice Leaves for New Job

• Wait.....what?!?!.....RJ isn't with the chronicle anymore? haha...who cares.

• Took me 3 months. And I actually kind of liked the guy's writing.   

• The Chronicle's GAIN is mlb.com's LOSS!

• Agreed.  I don't think the guy is capable of writing a column without calling somebody stupid.  Obviously, mlb.com only hires geniuses disguised as sportswriters.

• Huh... I miss him so bad it took me a month to realize that he was gone!

• And it's "paid" off, not "payed." Jesus, we're a dumb society.

• Absolutely no reason to read the Chronicle anymore. What a disaster it's become. The writing is awful.

• Good riddance. MLB can have him. Justice has always had an over-inflated sense of his own abilities and importance and it came through in everything he wrote on every subject.  I won't miss him.

• I never liked RJ's defense of the commisioner, but his writing was interesting and fun to follow.  I think he was too intelligent for most of the Houston folk who tried to read his column.  I'll enjoy following him at mlb.com.  You deserved better than Houston Richard.

• He will not be missed....and what is MLB.com thinking about hiring a guy who admittedly was knee deep in the PED infused baseball locker rooms of the nineties and just happened to miss it.  At least we can hope for a more balanced and nuanced look at sports with this flip-flopping wind bag gone...as if bankruptcy, mud slides, earthquakes, Arnold and the Kardashians weren't enough, now California has to endure this?  Maybe the Mayans were on to something.

• Uh, Ricky, I believe the term is "death knell..." Speaking of things poorly written  :-)

• Lol @ RIcky B... Nice attempt at sounding intelligent, but it's "death knell", not "death nail". Stop trying to use big words, you might hurt yourself.

• I, for one will miss him.  He made me laugh with his writing.  I liked the sense of humor in his articles.

• Guess I'll never read anything by this hack "writer" since I rarely go to the MLB website.  My complaint with him?  He would say anything just to have something to fill up his space with.  He'd say something on Sunday, then contradict it on Monday.  He knew it, too, but hey, at least the space got filled, right?  Better to say something contradictory than to say nothing at all.

• Well, explain it to me then. Because it seems more like you're one of the folks who picked up that buzz word via some mainstream outlet and doesn't quite understand the meaning. In fact, you're sort of embarrassing yourself, like a dad trying to impress his son by commenting that mom's spaghetti tastes "wicked dope." Please visit 4chan.org for more information. • Should I take that to mean you don't think I'm a so-so writer? Also, I don't think you have a particularly good grasp of the subtleties of what real trolling actually is. You say it like it's a value judgment, instead of a technique to get laughs or attention.

• Justice is a Selig brown noser who needed to be run out of Houston anyway.

• I knew it!  As a former "toy department" hacker myself, I knew in my gut there had to be something in the wind when Richard failed the integrity smell test time and time and time again during these past several months in his writings on the sale of the Astros and their transfer from the National League to the American League.  At least now, we'll know that Richard will be on MLB's payroll, legitimately, when he churns out propaganda for Commissioner BS.

• There's grumbling about whether Justice can be truly independent and aggressive anyway, so he might as well go to a house organ.

• His reward for  his pro consorting with the enemy Mr. Crane articles and pro AL stories has payed off. Without a doubt the sleaziest, gross and unsophisticated sports writer/reporter I have ever meant and that includes Milo

• He was just as likely to shit on the Longhorns, to drive clicks or whatever.

• good no more UT, Mack Brown slurping columns in Houston Chronicle.  On another note this may be the death nail to my chronicle home delivery subscription.  Chronicle has to be one of the poorest written papers in the USA
