Killed in a daylight robbery.
A customer at a westside car wash was killed in broad daylight Monday when two men tried to rob him, police say.

The 28-year-old victim, whose name was not released pending notification of his family, was shot about 11:15 a.m. in the 10700 block of Harwin, HPD says.

Police say he was approached and assaulted by two suspects and, "at some point, the victim tried to get away and was shot by one of the suspects."

He was taken to a hospital but died.

"One suspect is described only as a Hispanic male wearing a light gray hoodie, blue jeans and sunglasses," HPD says. "The other is described only as a black male wearing a dark-colored hoodie."

Anyone with information in this case is urged to contact the HPD Homicide Division at 713-308-3600 or Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.
