HCC Barely Manages to Inform Students Its Northeast Campus Has a Three-Day Shutdown

So many questions, so few answers.
Shutting down an entire college campus for three days is something you'd think the students would like to know about, right?

But Houston Community College, which so often has managed to bungle the simplest things, like awarding contracts without being shady about it, seems to have done it again.

HCC's northeast campus, according to an announcement sent to the media, "will be closed and all classes are cancelled for Wednesday, November 16 through Sunday, November 20 due to power issues. Regulary scheduled classes at the Pinemont Center will resume on Monday, November 21."

Putting aside "regulary," the e-mail said, "Faculty members will share information with students about makeup dates and times. For the latest updates, please continue to visit the H-C-C Northeast webpage."

Okay.

Except the page offered no further info as of 8:15 p.m. Tuesday.

And an HCC tweet about the situation linked to a "Page Not Found" destination (again, as of 8:15 p.m.).

So good luck with it all, HCC Northeast students. And while you're trying to get answers, you might ask why a campus at 1265 Pinemont is considered "northeast" instead of "northwest."

There actually is a different campus at HCC's Northeast College that is the Northeast Campus--it is open, Pinemont is the one that is closed.
