Burns over 90 percent of his body.
A 29-year-old charged last month in Harris County with the aggravated assault of a family member was taken to a San Antonio burn unit yesterday after he apparently stripped nude, doused himself with gasoline and set himself on fire.

Police in the Central Texas town of Rockdale say Gurjeet Singh has burns covering 90 percent of his body. They say the incident occurred just west of town at 4:30 p.m. Singh pulled his car to the shoulder of a rural stretch of US Highway 79 near a trailer park, stripped out of his clothes, set them on the passenger seat, got out and set himself alight.

According to a complaint filed by the Harris County Sheriff's Office, Singh attacked a family member with a knife on October 12. Two days later a psychiatric evaluation was ordered, as Singh complained of hearing voices before the attack. His father also told authorities that his son had been "mad," likely in the sense of "not in his right mind." It's unclear at present if the evaluation took place. In any event, his bond was forfeited yesterday, perhaps explaining his flight from town and subsequent drastic action.

Singh has previously been convicted of one DWI and two counts of driving with a suspended license.

I've known him for 20 years and it's sad to say he passed away last night. Above in the post it mentions he had a dwi and pulled over twice for suspended license. Seriously what does that have to do with this situation? Even though he did attack a family member and it was not an immediate family member he had more morals than that. But what goes on in people's personal lives is their matter.

In light of all the tragic events surrounding this dude, I feel sort of guilty saying this, but..."Gurjeet Singh" is probably the best name ever.
