Comment of the Day: Deer Hunting Blues

We have some great commenters here on Hair Balls, and it's time we paid some damn attention to them.

So we'll be highlighting a Comment of the Day each morning, from the previous day's work. Maybe two comments, even.

This will all be determined by a highly rigorous scientific formula involving wit, clarity and whatever else we feel like at the moment.

We wrote about a game warden who sweet-talked a nine-year-old into inadvertently narcing in his parents after the mom had taken credit for a buck illegally bagged by dad.

One reader called the whole thing a waste of resources.

I don't understand why this is illegal. They bought a license and had a tag for it, if they used the deer for food and obey they basic rules of hunting, what difference does it make if they husband shoots it or his wife. What really makes me mad about the game commission in our area when they see you in the woods, they approach everyone with their citation pads out. As if everyone in the woods is violating the rules. Why don't they save their tickets for the douche bags that cap a deer and cut the back straps and hind legs and leave the deer behind without tagging. Or leave a buck lay because it wasn't big enough. I could give you example after example of what jack asses the game commission are in Pennsylvania. I hunt 3 days out of the year and for the past 4 years, I've been stopped at least 2 of those days every year. I've never been cited because I do obey they rules, but way to ruin a hunt.
