• You and "guest" are totally wrong about this.  As Christians (if you are a Christian) we are called to hold each other accountable and that means we can judge each other's actions as either right or wrong. It is the law of the land that adults cannot have sex with minors, so we have to obey this law. In addition, the scripture that "guest" mentioned is not a command to avoid judging people, it's a command to avoid judging people hypocritically! If we are guilty of commiting a particular sin, then we have no right to criticize another for committing the same sin because you have lost all your credibility through your compromise. I have worked with youth as a youth worker, and I know that what this guy did was absolutely inexcusable!  He's the adult, and he should have learned to control his thoughts and impulses a long time ago.

• As someone who has known Chad for 10+ years, I was heartbroken when I heard this story. I have considered him a friend-someone with whom I have shared my stories, successes and failures. That being said, I am not totally surprised by these allegations.  I was 16 years old when I first met Chad, and it wasn't until years later that I realized how inappropriate our communication might have been. Now, I realize how little I actually knew about my "friend". He undeniably abused his position of power and broke the trust of all those who looked to him for guidance (myself included). My heart goes out to the girl, her family, and the community struggling to cope with this difficult situation.  I hope Chad finds the help he needs and can learn from the consequences of his actions.

And I know I just annoyed a bunch of bible thumpers, but you know what, having rock bands in church and staging elaborate theatrics is NOT what GOD is about, Jesus spoke out in the open in the desert on a rock.  These churches use these tatics to draw in the crowds, how else would they be able to make money.  They want the young and the hip youth ministers to attract the kids and hopefully draw in the parents and the money.  My daughter informed me there is a new youth minister visiting the school lately that she has heard about, long haired and tattooed, I am sure the kids think he is super duper cool!  And before I am raked over the coals, yeah I am bitter... I am jealous I can't come up with a scheme so great as to bilk millions from hard working people and the elderly or that I don't know how preach about all who don't think like I do will eventually suffer eternal damnation, all in the name of GOD!
