It comes in, but it also goes out
Income in Houston grew faster than any other city in the nation last decade, a new report says.

On Numbers studied U.S. Bureau of Economic Analysis.numbers and found that total income in Houston grew at an annual rate of 5.69 percent between 2000 and 2010.

They define "total income" as "the total amount of money earned by all residents of a given area in a given year, encompassing everything from wages and salaries to dividends and welfare checks."

Houston had a total personal income of $281.8 billion in 2010, up from $162 billion in 2000, On Numbers says.

Second place, in terms of percentage annual growth, went to Baton Rouge, with San Antonio coming in third.

Also near the top: Oklahoma City, Tucson, Las Vegas, Orlando and Washington D.C.

If you did your part by getting any income during the years 2000-2010 while in Houston, take a bow.
