We have some great commenters here on Hair Balls, and it's time we paid some damn attention to them.

So we'll be highlighting a Comment of the Day each morning, from the previous day's work. Maybe two comments, even.

This will all be determined by a highly rigorous scientific formula involving wit, clarity and whatever else we feel like at the moment.

A pest-control company published a poll to find the "rattiest neighborhoods" in Houston, and it seemed to us -- with it giving high rankings to West U, the Galleria and River Oaks -- that it was more a list of which neighborhoods could afford, and would immediately call, a pest-control company upon seeing a mouse.

We wondered if the overall list could be any richer or whiter, which didn't sit well with one reader.
