• please remember that even if management in those locations feel that way, that they may also feel that way at the Dairy Queen next door too.  I've seen no sign of these practices at my local Bass Pro.  There is racial diversity among the employees and patrons of the store here. Otherwise I wouldn't go. 

• I see "non-white" employees (that covers everything, I like that) as well as customers in the Bass-Pro that I go to.   I've never been to one in any other state.  Prices are a bit crazy, but they do have good sales.  Some of the supplies for dogs are a much better quality and lower price than elsewhere.  The Gander near me is less expensive but has very few choices.

It seems that the media has a hold of a lot of gulliable people because all they talk about is illegal Mexicans this and illegal Mexicans that....so now everyone believes that is the only ethnicity that is here illegally.  Give me a break.

• My dad was an AVID fisherman and an occasional hunter for most of his life. He thought Bass Pro Shops were overpriced and overrated. He also said he felt like he was in Redneck Town, USA, and this is coming from a man who routinely went to bait shops and tackle stores.

• I have never seen a non-white employee at any Bass Pro Shop. I'm often one of the few non-white people period in the store. Not that I buy much there, their prices are outrageous, just like Gander Mountain, but I'll admit to fondling their guns to kill time while waiting for the significant other to finish her shopping nearby.

• I would say this comment is not racist: An Indiana manager said "Hispanics should be shot at the border by the border patrol." This is a general statement referring to illegal aliens & not Hispanics in general.  Everyone has an opinion about our borders & how we should maintain them. Saying that...  Bass Pro will be settling with their defendants & If you were black man looking for a job...  I would go to Bass Pro today.

• I am not defending his/her comments, but I am afraid that what the HR manager in Louisiana said probably does not constitute racism in that "state".

• That is really shocking, if true.  I guess customers feel strongly about buying fishing lures from white Christians, so it DOES make good business sense. You don't often SEE discrimination so blatant by employers these days. Which I guess is probably why the EEOC grabbed the case themselves, as opposed to just issuing a Right to Sue letter.  In fact, it sort of makes me wonder why they waited so long - especially in light of the fact that the statute of limitations has probably run on some of those incidents.
