Visual Proof: Obama Is a Racist

White House photo
Checking out the White House Flickr page, we came across this picture from Saturday.

Looks pretty innocent, right? WRONG. Check out the sign over Obama's head.

"No Irish Need Apply"? The legendary addition to any help-wanted ad back in the day?

Songs have been written about this. As one goes:

I'm a decent boy just landed From the town of Ballyfad; I want a situation, yes, And want it very bad. I have seen employment advertised, "It's just the thing," says I, "But the dirty spalpeen ended with 'No Irish Need Apply.' "

"Whoa," says I, "that's an insult,
But to get the place I'll try,"
So I went to see the blackguard
With his "No Irish Need Apply."

Some do count it a misfortune
To be christened Pat or Dan,
But to me it is an honor
To be born an Irishman.

Even worse, this photo was taken in the office of chief of staff Bill Daley, himself an Irishman. Obviously a self-loathing one.

Or, possibly, one with a sense of humor.

STOP!  I am 100% Irish.  I have the exact same sign hanging up in my house.  I am PROUD to be Irish....just as I'm proud to be an American.  That sign could have even been a gift from Ted Kennedy for all you morons know.  My God, give Obama a break.  (Nategarden, I agree that it's an Irish Pride thing)

You guys are morons.  That sign is there as a rub in the face of those that would never hire the Irish...  "My great grandfather couldn't find work... but what do you know, his great grandson is now the White House Chief of Staff...  It's also hanging over a picture of Kennedy and Daley, it's an Irish pride thing.

And Why The H$@L does he have his feet on my table....

It's  silly, cuz Obama is Irish, too.

Seriously?  Is this what passes for "journalism" these days? First you choose a headline that is pure sensationalism and in no way factual. Then you wait until the very end of the piece to reveal that its not even Obama's office and that the owner is actually Irish himself.  And as I could have predicted, and as the comments bear out, every nut job that has a beef with the current administration has jumped on this band wagon to revile our President.  Nice going guys.  You should be so proud.

Oh please. Like the man actually decorated the room himself. He has probably never even taken the time to LOOK at the "art" around the room, let alone critique every piece as to whether or not it "implicates him as a racist".

Even more classless is the shoes on the furniture . . .

For some reason people like racist memorabilia.  I remember going into an antique shop and seeing a statue of a black mammy holding a watermelon and a sign that said "Dis be my slices."  I asked who the hell would buy that racist crap and display it, and the dealer said that middle-class and professional blacks bought them.

It's probably the same for this guy.

Has anyone stopped and thought maybe, just maybe, that sign was there via a previous administration or as evidence to not allow those day again. ????? There were 43 other people there before him....just saying.

This is an attempt at humor, but his actions and words demonstrate that he is clearly a racist class warrior.  Any appearance otherwise is just PR spin.

Just a fun fact, despite the song there is no evidence of these signs ever being used in America: http://tigger.uic.edu/~rjensen...

It's more of a novelty sign.  That guy is just using it as a straw man to kick off his bizarre rant/screed.  Even now, there are jobs you can't get if you're a poor immigrant.  True fact.

Oh I know. I think it's just Obama's little racial employment opportunity joke. I think it's hilarious.

He may not be racist but he's a class warrior.

Give the poor all the tax credits and rebates and fund the govt. via taxing middle class.

Makes perfect sense if you want to keep getting the poor vote.

Texasota

No. Seriously. Economic inequality is higher than it's been in decades. The richest 1% are richer than they've ever been while unemployment remains high. Can you cite an example of Obama "taxing the middle class?" And as for "getting the poor vote," you do realize that would be the worst political strategy imaginable right now, right? Lower income, younger and minority voters consistently vote at a much lower rate than older, wealthier and whiter people.

Looks like Ted Kennedy in the photo below the sign.

Yeah, I think so, although I guess it could be Clinton.

Not to mention the Justice Department policies.
