Om Prakash Budha: Faces Prison over Refusals to Fill Out Visa Forms

Man, Om Prakash Budha, 28, does not want to go back to Nepal.

He was nabbed in October 2010 crossing the U.S. border at Brownsville without proper documentation. Fine, you got caught, go home and try again, right?

Wrong. "On four separate occasions during a four-month period, Budha steadfastly refused to complete an application for a Nepali passport," the U.S. Attorney's Office says.

Hey, maybe the guy just hates paperwork.

Maybe he's like this guy:

His steadfast refusal eventually pissed off officials enough that they have filed criminal charges against him. He was convicted Wednesday of refusing to comply with a deportation order.

He's been taken out of administrative immigration custody and handed over to U.S. Marshals, and will be in custody until sentencing. Budha faces "a maximum of four years in federal prison without parole on each of the four counts of conviction as well as a fine of $250,000 for refusing to comply with the deportation order," the USAO says.
