Unidentified Male, 18, Drinking Beer and Playing Gun Games, Bayou Body Count No. 100

Gins and beer games: Never a good combination.
What better way to pass the time than by drinking beer and "passing around and playing with a revolver"?

That's what Houston police say a group of five men were doing about 8 p.m. Sunday when -- in a sentence you hate to read -- "One of the individuals, believing the gun was unloaded, pointed it at another person in the group and pulled the trigger."

As "believing the gun was unloaded" indicates, it wasn't and an 18-year-old man was killed. His identity has not been released pending notification of family members.

The incident happened in the 9900 block of Richmond, west of Gessner.

Police say the men fled after calling 911, but "three or four" returned to the scene for questioning. The shooter didn't, and police are looking for him.
