Red-Light Camera: Printable Car-Window Signs For Your Close-Up

Categories: Spaced City

As noted previously, Houston's red-light cameras -- despite a referendum calling for their removal -- are back in business, taking pictures and causing fines.

If you're unlucky enough to be caught by one of these things, which from anecdotal evidence can have hair-trigger reactions to even the slightest transgression, you and the back of your car will be caught on camera.

So why not let those cameras, and the people collecting those fines, know how you feel about it all?

Here are car-window signs you can position for your close-up, printable and ready to go. Or maybe you can just put `em on next to your license plate.

The current mayor didn't have anything to do with the contract with ATS.  That was our former sell-out mayor, thank you very much.

She did not but at the same time, she was for it, and forced them back on even after the people had voted them out.

how about this info:

The ruling was a major victory for the legal strategy of ATS General Counsel George Hittner? who worked with the Houston city attorney, Feldman, to create a lawsuit in which city officials, who want the cameras back, sued ATS, which also ...wants the... cameras back. The case was not filed in state court, which would be the proper venue. Instead, Hittner had the case filed in the federal courthouse where his FATHER happens to serve.. Seriously....DEMOCRACY IN HOUSTON!!!?? What about VOTE OF THE PEOPLE ? Has that Constitutional Right been removed from the littlte Brown Book Also? Before we know it our Constitutional rights will consist of ONE! Freedom of Speech....and this right bares no weight The voice of the people is considered as Blah Blah Blah!!The ruling was a major victory for the legal strategy of ATS General Counsel George Hittner? who worked with the Houston city attorney, Feldman, to create a lawsuit in which city officials, who want the cameras back, sued ATS, which also ...wants the... cameras back. It's pathetic enough that we Houstonians are already sentenced to imprisonment in our vehicles for ungodly numbers of hours a week whether commuting or errand-running. Isn't that enough? Nooooo!  A 10 mile trip which should only take 15 minutes winds up taking 1 hour because of crowded roads, freeways and intersections.  Add to the misery our Trap-ya Traffic Lights, engineered by some group of Cretinesque transportation engineers which will catch you mid-intersection and turn from green to red faster than the speed of light. Is it any wonder people try to beat a yellow light or make a hasty right on red, trying to shave a few minutes off their drive time?  And now the Red Light Scammeras want to take away the only freedom and money we've got left! SCREW RED LIGHT CAMERAS!!!  Oh yah...are those signs for sale?  I'll take 3 of each, please.

Houston officials have shown the arrogant disregard they have for the voters wishes. The ultimate "reward" for that callous arrogance is to be voted out of office - 100%.  Houston needs some moral, honest, rational, caring city officials who realize they work for YOU, not for themselves.  Houston voters should change every single person on council and any other elected post where the incumbent EVER voted to to have or retain the predatory cash registers at the traffic lights.  MORE safety is available from longer yellow intervals, but the officials have put camera revenue ahead of safety. THAT is immoral and worthy of being kicked out of office.  The science of getting greater safety with better engineering is on our website.   Join us to rid the country of the scourge of predatory red light cameras.  James C. Accidents doubled when the city put in red light cameras, and have fallen since they turned them off.    Now they are back on, and accidents will go back up.

Idiot mayor is an idiot.

Why are there more accidents with em on?

Idiot mayor had nothing to do with it. It was a court order after the city was sued by the scamera company. Hence mayor == no idiot.

has nothing to do with wearing an ass hat...has to do with listening to the people!!  if the people don't want them, then turn them off. plus, stats show they cause more accidents.  this is not about preventing accidents, this about $$

SPEEDING CAMERAS WILL COME NEXT - IF THESE RED-LIGHT CAMERAS ARE ALLOWED TO STAY YOU WILL THEN SEE THE CAMERAS USED TO CLOCK YOUR SPEED AND MAIL YOU A SPEEDING TICKET...

very true - they already do that in Europe and the program is just as crooked and politicized as the red light camera issue here.

that's freakin awesome!

remember, don't pay and the cameras go away! There is no repurcusion for not paying a scamera ticket. No arrest warrant, doesn't go on your license, insurance or credit and Harris county is not blocking registrations.

If true, that is excellent information. Cheers.

it is true, look up the state law governing scameras, it specifically says what they cannot do to you for not paying. It is transportation code 707. It says they can block your registration on the vehicle but Harris county is refusing to do so because they don't get a cut of the money.

Voting on red light cameras was a great idea. Now let's have a referendum on "NO SPEEDING TICKET UNLESS YOU ARE 20 MPH OVER THE POSTED SPEED LIMIT". Makes as much sense as no red light camera referendum..

Baytown Redlightcameras
Baytown Redlightcameras

officer initiated speeding tickets don't cause accidents and if you feel you were wrongly accused you can ask for a trial by jury and have a little something called due process. I support officer initiated traffic tickets, not a scam imposed against the will of the voters
