• Can't forget about the costs of the wars. Bush never included them in the budget, but when Obama came into office he did. Then the deficit goes up and Republicans blame Obama, ignoring the fact that the money wasn't just spent then and there but was a holdover from Bush who refused to include the numbers.

• I'm sure it's just a coincidence that they chose to forget it when a certain somebody came into office who looked a bit different to them....

• <sarcasm on> I'm sure it was all the poor people sucking the life out of all those rich taxes-paying people by wanting to get subsistence help from teh gubment... <sarcasm off>  during a time of economic downturn, lets just blame all the government woes on the poor. 

• Not to mention the unfunded prescription drug boondoggle that Bush and a Republican congress passed.  Also, don't forget the years of stagnation because the Republicans in the Senate "filibuster" was used to basically hold up any meaningful actions in 2007-2010.  What short short memories the uneducated have. 

• Actually... after doing a little more research, I find I was right on the money. 1.5% of households make more than $250,000. Less than 1% of indicviduals make mess than 1%. I could skew these results to say anything I want if I wanted to link to think tanks with my personal bias, of course. Not that those two sites don't look completely nonpartisan to me...

• You have to be joking...you do realize that there are families being raised on only $30K - $40K per year, right? So a couple making $250K in a year is most definitely wealthy to a majority of Americans.

• Added to the debt during Bush: $2.4 T, added to the debt by Obama over 4 yrs: $6.1T, who is truly the profligate spender?

• That's a shot ton of money that most people, not only in this country but the world, will never see.

• $250,000 might not buy as much as it used to, but $250,000 was top 1% 30 years ago, and it remains top 1% today.

• "We guess "#jobkillingtaxincreases" is better, from a GOP viewpoint, than "#smalltaxincreasesontheincrediblywealthy"." -  how do you define incredibly wealthy?  Obama said couples making $250K and up is wealthy.  That might have been incredibly wealthy 30 yrs ago, it's not today. 

• What's amazing is not that these representatives and senator are so clueless, but that their staffs, all of their aides, are also so incredibly dumb and lazy, they haven't done the bare minimum job of educating their bosses about the facts, which are readily available to anyone that owns a computer. They've helped their bosses come across as yokels and butts of jokes.  I understand that since facts and science and accounting appear liberal to them, that they are uncomfortable and scared.  But if they think that constantly putting their fingers in their ears and singing "La La LA - I hate Blackie McBlackman" all day will help their constituents, they're wrong.  And they don't deserve to be in office.

• Tragically, former congressman Anthony Weiner is not available for debt ceiling tweets...

• How stupid do you have to be to think that those things had nothing to do with incurring debt?  Probably stupid enough to think that announcing that you won't pay for something that you've already bought is "fiscally responsible." 

• The Repubs are idiots! The're so scared to let the Dems know we have no money!  Like some idiot who pawns everything he owns and ruins his future. All to impress some high maintenance stripper who could care a less about him or the future! Man up and shut the wallet!

• "we voted to spend this money on tax cuts for the rich, two wars and a Medicaid prescription bill..." You have to be incredibly stupid to think that these are the only three things that got us up to $14 trillion. Math doesn't compromise.

• Humor!! Finely played, sir. Because obviously Obama has no plan for solving the debt crisis, see? You said it. That knucklehead has no idea how to get the country out of the mess he and Pelosi and Reid spent us into.
