Kansas City's Aurelien Collin on Dynamo Fan Hit List

Every time Collin touched the ball, the 12,047 orange-clad fans at Robertson Stadium went ape-shit on him. And why was that?

"Because the two strikers of Houston made two stupid tackles, and after the referee gave them two red cards, maybe the fans didn't think it was fair, and they wanted a piece of me," Collin explained. "I understand."

The Dynamo took the early lead in the eighth minute, when Brad Davis rifled a free kick past Sporting goalkeeper Jimmy Nielsen. They rode that lead until trouble brewed in the second half. First it was Dynamo midfielder Collin Clark, who was sent off with a straight red card in the 51st minute for a serious foul play on Collin. Then team captain Brian Ching got sent off in the 70th minute, for violent conduct against -- you guessed it -- Collin.

As Collin understood, the fans might have thought he fell rather easily and played a little theatrics in drawing the two fouls, hence the constant heckling. As a big fuck-you to the fans, Collin hit the equalizer in the 90th minute, a low shot that would've been saved by Tally Hall had there not been a deflection.

"I think it's fair," Collin explained to Hair Balls. "We should have won that game because they were only nine [players], but I was a happy man."

The Dynamo tried their hardest to escape with three points. Hall finished the game with nine saves, and the defense turned into a big cluster-fuck in the middle following Ching's ejection. Dynamo head coach Dominic Kinnear even thought to himself on the bench, "If we come out of here with three points, it's cause for celebration."

"I think the last time we played with nine men was against Pachuca, maybe about five years ago. It's always tough no matter what, then you have the heat. It was a hard-earned point for a number of reasons, well deserved, because things didn't go our way."

Alas, the Dynamo yielded the tying goal with a handful of minutes left in the match. The team, now tired from defending their asses off, has a quick turnaround this week when they face their first ever European opponent on Wednesday -- English Premier League side Bolton Wanderers. The match against the Bolton is for the Dynamo Charities Cup, and will be played at Robertson Stadium. The Dynamo then travel to Los Angeles for a Saturday soiree against Chivas USA.
