Police are looking for the man pictured here, who they say talked a Bellaire woman out of $424.
Crime Stoppers Has a way with old women
He walked up to an 85-year-old woman on May 6 and told her there was something wrong with her front tire. Ever the gallant knight, he told her he could fix it, for $424.
We assume he had some game, because "the suspect went with the victim to a bank and stood with her while she withdrew $424 from account," Crime Stoppers says.
He and the victim then drove to a location where he said they needed to wait for a wrecker.
"The suspect told the victim that he was going to get some gas for another car and fled the scene," Crime Stoppers says.
He's described as 5-7 and 160 to 170 pounds. Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS (8477).
There's a reward of up to $5,000 for information leading to an arrest.
