Had her baby then turned herself in.
Sixteen-year-old Tambreshia Laqua Jackson shot her mother to death in 2009, but by the time police figured out she'd done it, she was eight months pregnant.

"It was agreed by HPD, the Harris County District Attorney's Office and Jackson that she would turn herself in to police after the baby was delivered," HPD says, and she did so last month. Yesterday she was formally charged with murder and certified to stand trial as an adult. (She's now 18, but was 16 at the time of the death.)

Initially a male was thought to have killed Lakisha Jackson Allen, 32, during an early-morning argument in an apartment in the 7700 block of Creekbend.

"Further investigation revealed that Allen's daughter, suspect Jackson, who was 16 at the time of the murder, was responsible for the shooting," HPD says. "Homicide investigators located Jackson, who was eight months pregnant at the time, in Corsicana, Texas."

There are no other suspects in the case, HPD says.
