A veteran Liberty County prosecutor has been charged with deadly conduct and making a terroristic threat for reportedly pulling a gun on a family whose pit bull had killed his dog.

Joe Warren, who had been one of the attorneys handling the Cleveland gang-rape case, was arraigned and freed on personal recognizance.

The Houston Chronicle reports that Liberty County DA Mike Little says he's been left in the dark by the sheriff's office on the situation. The sheriff's office isn't commenting.

Warren also faces a charge of tampering with a witness, but further details are not available at this time.
