Obama Beating Perry in Texas Match-Up, But Not Michelle Bachmann

Gov. Perry's Invitation to The Response from The Response USA on Vimeo.

Rick Perry, the man who just might turn out to be the awesomest president ever if we can just convince him to run, would not win his home state against Barack Obama, a new poll shows.

The survey by Public Policy Polling shows Obama beating Perry 47-45 in a head-to-head match-up, joining Herman Cain and Sarah Palin as the only potential 2012 candidates to lose to him.

And it's not because Texas loves Obama -- unlike a recent poll which showed the president with an approval rating over 50 percent, PPP found an approval rating of 42 percent, with 55 percent disapproving.

Perry's not out of it yet, though: The poll showed that people who favor Texas seceding from the United States favored Perry 73 percent to 19 percent over Obama. Who the 19 percent were was not clear, nor was their thinking on the matter.

Maybe Perry will get a big boost from his Prayerapalooza in Houston later this summer, for which excitement is already building tremendously, if by "tremendously" you mean in people giggling about it.

Embedded above is the latest video of Perry urging folks to come on down and fast and pray for the big event. (Not a good day to be selling concessions in Reliant Stadium.)

Where in the hell were all these Perry haters back on Election Day? And does this mean Texans actually hate Bill White more than they hate Obama? I don't know how any politician expects to lead this batshit country.
