Comment of the Day: Why Yao Ming Didn't Meet Expectations
We have some great commenters here on Hair Balls, and it's time we paid some damn attention to them.
So we'll be highlighting a Comment of the Day each morning, from the previous day's work. Maybe two comments, even.
This will all be determined by a highly rigorous scientific formula involving wit, clarity and whatever else we feel like at the moment.
We wrote how Houston Rockets center Yao Ming seems to be indicating he will retire as a result of the latest in a long string of injuries. We said he hadn't lived up to the high expectations Houston fans had of him, and one reader speculated why.

Do you know why he never delivered on the high expectations we had for him?One cannot play year round basketball (Rockets & Chinese National Team) for long without some kind of injury. An NBA player needs those summers off from regular play and training to recoup from the season and rebuild their bodies.
The Rockets were ludicrous for agreeing to allow him to play with the National team. He should've chosen one or the other.
I knew this was going to be the result from day one.
