Colt McCoy Appreciation Dinner: A Menu Inspired by Rachel McCoy's Call to ESPN's Colin Cowherd

Rachel McCoy may be getting a muzzle as a wedding present from the University of Texas football program.

The wife of Colt McCoy, the former Longhorns' star and current Cleveland Brown quarterback, called radio host Colin Cowherd, out of her own volition, to dish/spill the beans/insert your own silly food pun here about what high-profile college athletes are tempted with.

"Regularly, it's just dinner. People in Texas are just being friendly, and they don't mean anything by it at all," Mrs. McCoy said on the Tuesday-morning edition of ESPN's The Herd. "They don't really realize, I don't think, most of the time that it is a violation. Texas is very strict about making it clear to all their players [that] you take absolutely nothing. I don't care if it's a hot dog, a soda, anything. That's just the regular stuff."

She later said, in the context of agents offering gifts, "I know [Colt] was approached a lot, but you know how Colt is; he can just kind of brush it off and move on and not go down that road. But I saw so many of his teammates who maybe didn't have the self control to say 'no' to somebody. I can't. It's not my personality and I don't want to hurt people's feelings."

Though she didn't lay out any specific violations, her bizarre comments may have tipped off the no-nonsense NCAA to do some investigating in Austin. (You can find the archived audio of the Rachel McCoy-Cowherd conversation on the ESPN website.)

Looking back at Texas' disastrous 5-7 season in 2010, Hair Balls isn't exactly sure what players were eating during the first campaign after McCoy's departure. But we're willing to speculate what Mack Brown's boys were stuffing in their pre-game pieholes.
