Texas Secessionists to Obama: Israel With 1967 Borders? We Want Texas With 1845 Borders

Our own "Arab Spring"
President Obama's call for Israel to revert to its 1967 borders has caught the attention of one of the most forward-thinking, sophisticated political thinkers of our state, Daniel Miller, the president of the Texas Nationalist Movement.

He has dashed off a letter to Obama saying, in essence, you think those Israel borders a good idea? Then get Texas back to its 1845 borders.

"It seems that you and your people have a desire to allow people the right of self-determination and return things to "the way they were," says Miller, apparently a big Barbra Streisand fan.

He calls for three things:

1. Return the United States to its pre-1845 border with Texas.

2. Recognize Texas as an independent and sovereign nation.

3. Take no actions of retribution and support our success wholeheartedly.

He -- ha ha! --adds a p.s." "Let's not call it secession. We can play off the 'Arab Spring' you supported and call it 'Texas Summer.' Has a nice ring, doesn't it?"

No comment yet from the White House. Or Rick Perry's office, for that matter.

Talking about Texas [Tejas] there's a big lie in history that I want to refresh if somebody doesn't know: in 1936 Texas was a free territory, with no slavery, then the invaders started infesting the territory bringing their slaves with them and asking the Mexican gov. [remember by those daysTexas was Mexico] to allow them to keep the slaves with, thing that the Mexican gov. didn't allow... the rest is history but at "El Alamo" theres a metallic plate that prays: "...to our heroes who fought for freedom" ... ~F******G BIG LIE!

It has been said that:  Texas is... a state of mind.

Guess he must be pretty upset with Gov. Perry asking for federal money to help Texas with the fires.  I mean if they want to secede, they should be able to handle their own disasters, shouldn't they?

How about the 1836 borders, when Texas belonged to Mexico? You say Texas won the territory in a war with Mexico? So did the US a decade later. Plus, the Republic of Texas voted to join the union - twice. The rest of the union has been waiting patiently ever since for some benefit to all the warring in order to keep that backward liability in the family.

As one former Texan, I would love for Texas to leave the union, and take with it your third world policies and ridiculous, unwarranted boasting.Don't let the door hit you in the back.

Who cares about Israel honestly. Just as most of you don't care about arab countries unless they're in the news. The jews were given "permission" to steal the land from the Palestinians in the first place. They don't deserve it. Imagine if there was another World War and U.S. lost and for some reason Buddhist monks were given all of Texas. To claim as their land. Best believe you wouldn't want to easily give up your home town your house and everything you know. People are ignorant. It would be find if they didn't run the Palestinians from there home, treated them according to jewish law and spit on them kill them but they don't live or even try to live in piece. All Palestinians lived as occupied people while the Israelis are allowed to enjoy "normal" life. It just isn't right in the first place. There's a reason other countries support Palestine and hate the U.S. support for Israel. And before all the Anti-Semitic post start popping up. NO I'm not again any race or religion.

Chomsky speaks pretty convincingly about all this....

Sounds like a great idea!  And Louisiana can have it's original borders back as well and take up about 5 other states.  Texans are morons.  They all act like the are the only state that has had it's borders changed.

WAIT WAIT... not all of us are morons, only the ones who open their mouth constantly!

I'm sure Daniel appreciates your admiration of his sense of humor. No pun intended, but I've always found it kind of funny that when you far-far lefties can't debate a subject rationally, you feel this overwhelming need to whip a little Molly Ivins-style belittling on the opposition, or simply call it racism. Molly, at least, was clever.

Dude!!
Dude!!

Molly Ivins was a satirist.  Satirists don't belittle, because belittling is for the philistines who cannot make a decent turn of phrase.  Satire is the fine art of wit.  Belittling is the Pabst Blue Ribbon of criticism, whereas satire is fine wine.

The irony is that you call him a "far far lefty", then complain about rational debate. If this is far left, then I don't know that to say.bee all have opinions, but to say he or any other writer is far left is ridiculous. Just because someone disagrees with you doesn't make them far whatever. If he is far left, then the whole of Europe must be godless heathen Communists.

Seriously folks, when Obama calls on Israel to topull back to the borders that existed before the 1967 war, he is really calling on the Jewish state to commit suicide.

Israelwould be left with a border that is less than nine miles wide at itsnarrowest.

No presidentof the United States, Republican or Democrat, has ever called on Israel to returnto its pre-1967 borders.  Everypresident, except Obama, has recognized that Israel is surrounded by enemiesthat have vowed to wipe it off the map, and that includes Palestinian Authoritypresident Abbas and his ‘moderate’ Fatah faction.

As PresidentObama continues to reach out to the Muslim world, it is downright disgusting tosee how he keeps sucking up to a part of the world that has a very strongdislike for America and, no matter what Obama does, will keep right ondisliking us.

This is incorrect.A wise policy or not, Obama's position on Israel is a continuation of U.S. policy for years.Research is hard.

uh, yeah, like US policy for the past 40 years or so....

this position, including a land trade, is pretty obvious to anyone who knows about the situation.

Should also be mentioned somewhere that Israel fought two successful major wars from those "indefensible" borders.

In case anyone is counting.

Way to go there Professor Pissnuts, not only is your comment a load of utter bullshit, but could have at least doctored the fucking thing up by copy and pasting it correctly.
