NY Senator Chuck Schumer Feels the Awesome Power of Michael Berry

Take that, New York Senator Chuck Schumer!!! You insult Houston at your peril while Michael Berry's here to defend it!!!

The tiresome KTRH talk-show host has found a new dead horse to beat: the decision to spurn Houston when it comes to retired space shuttles. Pretty much everyone else got over their disappointment awhile back, but not Berry.

In perhaps the most wonderful piece of absolutely ineffective political theater anywhere, Berry is urging his listeners to boycott New York because of statements made by Schumer regarding Houston.

We're sure Broadway is reeling from the effects of the Berry Boycott.

Here is the awful, terrible, hurtful thing Schumer said about Houstonians criticizing the decision to give a shuttle to New York's Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum instead of us:

I say to Houston, when people all around the world, in London and in Tokyo and in Paris, Buenos Aires say, 'Gee, I can't wait for my trip to Houston,' then you can have a shuttle.

Berry is outraged, professionally. He has an entire Web page dedicated to how his feelings were hurt by the awful thing Schumer said.

When the owners of the Yankees, Rockefeller Center and ferries to the Statue of Liberty come pleading on bended knee to Berry to call off his boycott, we can only hope the radio host can be benevolent.

Schumer never saw a tax hike he didn't like, more of the same from the tax & spend crowd of libtards.

Just think, if we didn't blow up two space shuttles there might have been enough to go around.

This from the prick who fires people on the phone. Let's put Macca Burry's home number on a billboard so all the people HE called to fire can call him back.

Are you a Houstonian Richard Connelly? You left out the part about how 2-3 days after we received the news and were just about over our disappointment, Schumer had to go run his mouth off. Chuck owes Houston an apology.

Are you an amnesia sufferer, Justin Denson? You left out the part about how a bunch of Texas Representatives (weirdly, led by a rep from Utah), pitched a hold-my-breath-till-I-turn-blue-style hissy fit and put forth a bill to force NASA to give us a Shuttle. They also "demanded" an explaination as to why they didn't give us a shuttle - after they had made their decision. THAT'S what Shumer was responding to. He wasn't just trying to rub salt in our wounds. He was calling out our elected officials for being a bunch of crybabies, and explaining to those that didn't get it that it was based on tourism numbers, not politics. Was he a dick about it? Yeah. Did our people call the tune by being dicks first? Hell yeah, they did.

The reason New York got a shuttle is because New York, like all the states that received a shuttle, voted for Obama in 2008.

I'm no fan of Berry, but that's a pretty shitty way to say "Houston isn't a tourist destination." It's like saying "That dick bag is a shit-eating asshole" instead of "I am not a fan of Senator Shumer." See how that works, Chuck.

Schumer's right, unless you're from Lufkin.

This is what happens to the little dorky kid with a cruel streak who desperately wants to be liked by the mean popular kids.

Michael Berry is essentially Scut Farkus' toadie in A Christmas Story all grown-up.

You know, I would be mad at Schumer also, if he was wrong about Houston. Houston aint exactly the mecca of tourism. And besides, Michael Berry is a whiny bitch.

Has Chuck Schumer ever accompanied a midnight police raid on KMart shoppers and Sonic customers?

Houstonians would visit a space shuttle parked in their "backyard", New Yorkers won't. Chalk it up there with the museums, monuments, etc. that New Yorkers only go to when their out of towner guests beg them to take them.

See, here's a key difference you're refusing to see: Tourists will actually GO to New York WITHOUT having relatives to visit.

But he's right. I love Houston, but it's not a major destination city when compared to the examples he gave.
