A drunk driver ran a red light and killed another man early Saturday morning, police say.
HPD Nefi Cruz tried to escape on foot.
Nefi Cruz, 22, has been charged with intoxication manslaughter in the death of Rodrigo Caballero Cisneros, 30, in the incident that happened about 2 a.m. at the intersection of the West Sam Houston Parkway and Harwin Drive.
Police say Cisneros was driving east on Harwin when Cruz, driving a Volkswagen Golf, ran a red light at the intersection.
Cisneros's car was spun violently and slammed into a concrete median. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Cruz tried to escape on foot but was captured nearby, police said.
