Man Doesn't Notice Knife Sticking Out of Bed He Jumps On, Killing Him
We're not sure why anyone would position a knife pointing upwards on a hotel bed, but someone did and a 24-year-old Garland man is dead because he didn't notice it before he dove right into it, Houston police say.

The man, whose identity has not been released, was in a hotel room with two friends in the 11100 block of the Katy Freeway about 4 a.m. Sunday, HPD says.
"One man placed a knife on the victim's bed," police say. "The knife was pointed upwards and held in place by the bedding. The victim, not realizing the knife was there, jumped onto the bed and landed on the knife."
He was taken to Ben Taub, but was pronounced dead.
The Houston Chronicle reports that the men had been drinking.
HPD says no charges have been filed in the case, but it will be referred to a Harris County grand jury.
