You probably would not be too surprised to learn that the vast majority of people in the Texas Department of Public Safety's sex offender list are male.

And most are not good-looking.

But there are females on there, too. Most of them are not good-looking, true, but who takes a good mugshot besides Tom DeLay?

We combed through 15 of the biggest counties in Texas and came up with the ten hottest women in the database. Warning: In some cases, we picked out the best of a series of mugshots. Alternative choices were starkly different. So click on each link before you send any marriage proposals.

I believe what they were trying to do, is to let you know that not all sex offenders are "creepy" looking people or just men. They can be good looking and for you to listen to your gut about a person no matter what they look like or what sex they are.

I believe there are way too many people who feels the need to get offended just to get offended.. This article I assume is a very simple way to make a point (and yes, the point is mainly aimed at men).. First we get that "top ten hottest".. that is supposed to peak our curiosity.. than we get the "sex offenders" which is going to get us to think "hey hey hey.. the women in question have a sexual drive that is so strong that it's even illegal".. and finally they SLAP us in the face with the fact that they are not women with just overactive libidos. but actually criminal behaviour.. giving a strong point to a strong message., I didn't bother reading all comments (very very many).. but I have to admit I got VERY curious about that "karen brown" where the victim said "n/a".. how do one commit a sex-crime without any victim?.. by looking it up I found out there was a victim, they just didn't post it here. And to those discussing it; No you don't need to find out the specific crime anyone commited to be able to see a photo and knowing they commited a sex-crime.. f.ex. you can simply go to the txdps webpage you get directed to when you click on the names in this article.. you need to scroll down pretty far before you can see what crime they committed.

You have got to be kidding me. If you feel that strongly about this issue than why the hell would you even read the article in the first place. I applaude the writer of this article and what he is trying to do. The word "HOT" is meant in a sarcastic way. He is trying to educate the public. Why don't you spend your time doing the same thing instead of wasting your time on a f'ing petition just because it offended YOU. God forbid someone says something you don't like. Let it be. Obviously there are a lot of other people out there that actually understand and get it. Just because you don't like it means it is wrong?
Here is what I took away from this: ONE: People are way too high on their horse and need to calm down. You're acting like a bunch of drunks (and not the fun kind). The article had a point... unfortunately instead of seeing the point and appreciating it for what it was, they instead used it as an opportunity to lecture and absolutely demand that everyone also see it from their point of view. The beauiful thing about our country is that you get to have your own opinions... and even better than that, people have the option of seeing things from a different perspective. I highly doubt there is a single person that read this article and thought to themselves "you know, now that I get a look at that chick, I'm sure nothing major happened and the victim was really just deserving it or over reacting". No. Everyone (almost everyone) is well aware of how damaging and terrible sexual abuse is. TWO: It's a great opportunity to have a discussion with my own child about sexual abuse. More than anyone, kids are taught that abusers are nasty, scary, gross strangers that lurk in dark alleys and drive big white vans offering candy or asking for help to find a long lost puppy. Pretty much everyone has close to the same picture in their own mind. For those of you who are angrily asking why there is no article about the "sexiest men who are abusers" -- it's because it is America's dirty little secret that women also do this to children. This article does a great job bringing light to the fact that these people look like normal, ordinary people and you need to be CAREFUL who you trust with your child. As a parent, I appreciate the article as an opening to a conversation with my daughter about the subject. Any warped personality can hide behind "good looks" (although for anyone to see the outer shell of an inner rotten devil beats the hell out of me!! ...); or they can hide behind the typical "innocent" look, which is even worse. Patriot Gyrl65, First of all, I respect what you've been through, and I truly commend you for making the best of your life after experiencing such a traumatic event. Also, I understand the point of this article being to bring attention to the fact that not all offenders fit the "offender" stereotype and we need to be extra careful and not assume that women are above this offense. I would like to point out, however, that not all sex offenders are equivalent, and before we wish them all a SWIFT death sentence, it is necessary to amend the system to consider each offender on a case-by-case basis. I was the 16-year-old "victim" of my ex, who was 20 at the time. My father, who I am no longer on speaking terms with, was a well-respected officer for the local police who could not swallow his overbearing parental pride. Now, a fair rebuttal at this point would be to say that a 16 year old is not capable of making her own decisions, and must therefore be considered a vulnerable child by the state. This is where the subjective opinion of the court needs to come in. The mental maturity of both participants needs to be considered, not simply the objective number of age. We both made statements admitting to sexual intercourse (because the truth is always your best bet, right? ha!), and that is an offense, pure and simple, because I was one year short of deciding for myself. My ex, who I remain close friends with, is now 25, an incredibly smart college graduate with undeniable potential, and scraping by on minimum wage jobs that don't run background checks. He lives with his mother in the middle of nowhere because he is a registered sex offender and he can't keep a proper place in Houston. Society as a whole GENERALIZES TO DEATH (nearly literally, in your case), assuming everybody on the registry is a disgusting, low-life pedophile. This is also the same stereotype that is key to forgetting about women as potential sex offenders. BUT, you and some other commenters are right: there is a very important distinction to be made between pedophiles and those who fell through a loophole of the law. Where do we draw this line? So far, Texas draws it at 17 years of age (it is 18 in some states, but definitely not 16 in most, as you stated), and no more than 3 years (not 4) between offender and victim. These Romeo and Juliet parameters are entirely arbitrary and furthermore result in crowding of the more dangerous registrants by "offenders" who merely met too many 'sex offender' criteria. Don't get me wrong, we definitely need a registry to inform the public of dangerous, high-risk offenders, but we don't need to waste the state's resources and the public's attention span on these trivial loophole cases. Understandably, it is difficult to understand the situation from the offender's perspective--the victim is the one who obviously suffers, after all. But I am glad you seem to have internalized "Esther's" post, and I hope you do not continue to direct your anger so unabashedly upon everyone who has been branded with this scarlet letter.

Well, to be honest a lot of women have sex with underage guys. I've seen it with my own eyes. and many guys sleep with teens. It is biological. Women in her thirties are in peak and a guy in his teens is in his peak so they have sex. A female I know posted this on her facebook..what was on her mind? Oh yeah, she was accused of molesting her own kid. So yeah...sex happens in all ages not that it makes it right...but it does. just protect yourself. a lot of human trafficking occurs in all states and countries of all sizes and sex.

This newspaper article actually made it all the way to a Korean Newspaper... in Korea.. It is something that is truly needed in our country since in this country... all faces must be covered no matter if the person is guilty of horrible crimes... Most Koreans have the stereotypes of criminals as being either very dirty or big and scary gangster looking people... and children in schools are taught to avoid them... one of the reasons for this is that we never get to see the face of criminals.. we never even consider a woman...let alone a beautiful girl as someone that would commit such a crime.

Sure we put them in jail, on lifetime supervision and the registries across the nation. Has anyone considered the costs involved in something that has TO DATE...NOT saved anyones life??? Millions, if each of you takes the time to read the registry as she mentions above sexual assault comes on many many levels...which they don't show on the registry. Here in Nevada...we had the 1st 30 y/o female get the life sentence for the 13 y/o touching her breast outside her shirt...is that a reason to keep her in prison for all of us to pay for??? Absolutely NOT! Then if she does get out on parole at some point contiue to pay for her being monitored and on the registry for the rest of her life? Absolutely NOT again! I'd prefer my tax dollars going to the truly dangerous S.O.'s! Each one of the women on this post have surviving victims or they wouldn't be out to be on the registry to start! The Psycho Path Killer S.O.'s represent less than 1% of the S.O. population...per our US Justice Department Did anyone know out there that children related to an S.O. are affected by this in a negative way??? When the public has the ability to go right to someones house due to their past crime...did anyone know that we have a list of all the deaths due to the registry??? With several of them not even being an S.O. We have a young man as young as 13 y/o...shot in the face in front of his RSO father...just for answering the door to the husband and wife team who decided to take that sex offender out! Poor guy only looked like his RSO father. This is what the registry is doing. I pray that these women have gotten the treatment specific to their improper thoughts and that they don't reoffend again. And the victims have gotten the treatment necessary for them to heal as well! I am a previous victim and have taken the side of "once they're arrested we know their broken....FIX THEIR ASS ONCE YOU KNOW THEY'RE BROKEN!" Per our US Department of Justice, S.O.'s(that's all so's mind you) recedivism rates with treatment is only 3.5% and w/out only 5.3%. and that's the norm. The registry again has yet to protect any ONE Of US! I pray that any victims current or previous get the treatment they need to move forward and have an outstanding life just as I have! Another recommendation is to pray that your offender gets the necessary treatment they need as well. All of us have had to be forgiven for something we've done...paying back a debt to society is a convicts way of asking for forgiveness...I REFUSE TO THROW STONES...IT'S HISTORY REPEATING ITSELF....BLACK CITIZENS WERE LOOKED AT LIKE THAT JUST FOR THE COLOR OF THEIR SKIN! Thank goodness we came to our senses! Now lets get it together in treating offenders specific to their individual crimes so that we can get the recedivism rates even lower than 3.5%. Hating others no matter how they're different has not worked in the past and still isn't working to date! Well, speaking from over twenty-two years of experience within TDCJ as a mental health professional, I can assure you that some women are fairly attractive. But, many prisons workers cannot keep their fucking boundaries and end up getting into dual relationships with them. What losers. Oh well, at least this article was interesting. The fucking Discovery Channel had a cow over it. I took this to be tongue-in-cheek. Who gives a shit? When I used to drive with my CB on (yes, I still use it to avoid tickets), I would often hear the truckers talk about how they would like to work there with all of those women. Little did they know that medical staff sometimes burned candles to mask the horrid odors that come with medical triage inside a prison. Let's just say, some female offenders hide things that get rather smelly when inserted in various orifices. The title was clearly meant to grab your attention (and it did) not to be funny or trivialize child molestation. Come on, really? I guess the author assumed people were intelligent enough (a mistake in my opinion) to realize the headline was meant to be satirical. When everyone overreacted, the amendment was added. People have a tendency to take things at face value, especially when they're the slightest bit controversial, and overreact. They don't even give their brains a fair chance to look into something deeper and see it from all sides.
I don't know why you would post an article like this and with that title. Very poor taste and disturbing.
Bad choice by the HC editors for using the "hot button" phrase "10 Hottest Women". There are only a couple of cute ones, but they shouldn't be listed as hot. It's terrible what media outlets are doing to sell their product these days. There should be an article on "The 10 Biggest Media Whores" of journalism. The Houston Chronicle gets my vote.
Oh, and I forgot one issue. First, as several have mentioned, the actual guilt in any of these cases is unknown by anyone reading this, but assuming the charges are all true as stated, there is very little chance that the offenses occurred as a result of the women being out "walking the streets targeting...babies." The chances are close to 100% that the children and teens involved were either relatives of the women or individuals that they already had a connection with. You may think this makes no difference, but statistically, and coupled with the fact that they have been charged and dealt with in the system, it places them at very, very low risk to re-offend.
No sir, it is people like me who will defend your rights or the rights of your children if, due to childhood curiosity, teenage romance, or college pranks, they find themselves on the registry. I realize that none of these situations apply to the women targeted in this article, but I also know that rights are easily taken away from those that appear most despicable. If this reporter and this publication really want to do a public service rather than appeal to prurient interests, they need to print an article about the youngest on the Texas sex offender registry. They will find they start at age ten. Jeremiah, you have several areas of misinformation in your response. Sex offenders in Texas do not go door to door, pictures are not required to be anywhere but on the public registry, and there is no law that strips the right of privacy per se from an individual who is not incarcerated.

Why would you glorify the offenses that these women committed by giving them the hottest label? Why not call them what they are child predators. If they were men they would not be on a list like this; they would be vilified. These women need to be also. who cares what they look like, they are criminals against our children.

I think we need to be about as concerned about the person responsible for this production as the women themselves. OSD has a real point. As one who has treated the results of the actions of this kind of sick criminal, I can say it is as stated, 'crossing the line'. Also, if that is the best they have got to show for 'beauty' and not of them could ever be 'hot' or 'beautiful' to those that love children and sanity...there is not one that looks really beautiful by any standards. Hope it helps those living in the area where they live, look up their addresses and be mindful of their children.

It is the very nature of sex offenses for the victim to feel helpless and forced into an act they do not want to participate in, whether the assaulter offered any physical threat or not. Take the example of the "Lucky" 13 year old boy whose teacher sleeps with him. He's in eighth grade. He has been taught his entire life to listen to his teachers and respect them and do what they tell him to. The very fact that his peers would be jealous shows how we still have a medieval view towards sex offenders, which is what this article should have been about. Not about how hot predators can be. Think about the victims for a moment, for god's sake.

I do not believe that anyone fully understands why this article and its accompanying list, complete with pictures and charges, is such an outrage. Some people use the public sex offender registry to verbally or physically harass, assault, threaten, and intimidate those on the registry. Some registrants have even been murdered by vigilantes not content with a lesser degree of harassment; at least one of those murdered was not the individual on the registry at all but someone bearing the same name. Such use of the registry is illegal, and each state’s site warns of the consequences. The Houston Press’s use of the registry in this situation is identical. Due to this article, these women are being attacked, ridiculed and verbally assaulted, and the population being invited to share in this sport is limited only by one’s lack of a computer or inability to read. Each of these women has dealt with and is continuing to deal with her offense and her situation as dictated by the courts and the judicial system. Anyone with any sense knows that each of them may or may not be guilty of the charge as given. Many feel that a charge of sexual misconduct with a willing teenager should not be viewed nor treated the same as sexual misconduct with a young child. Regardless, it is impossible for anyone to have certain knowledge as to guilt or innocence, yet the creation of what amounts to a hit list now holds these women up to the wildest and most cruel speculation, verbal assault,humiliation, and ridicule; it has made them targets of the most uneducated,misinformed, cruel, and ignorant taunting and demonizing. It is so sad we live in a world where people find something so hard to believe. Believe it, Im working on a DOCUMENTARY about abuse kids and its so said when stupid ass people believe lying adults and dont believe the children. Kids are being abused from the age of 4months to teens. They need to expose these sick ass people cause if not, when they get out of jail people will look at them and openly accept them into their lives cause they dont look like child molesters.

The offenders crossed the line. So did the Houston Press. The article could have been titled something like, "Those No One Would Suspect", then made note the women were otherwise attractive, albeit their behavior is that of sexual predator. There is a good caution here the general public should be shocked. Calling these gals hot in order to make a point obliterates it, in my opinion.
I am stunned by the stupidity and the audacity of Richard Connelly. This is nothing but readership bait! This is on the level of the crazy magazines the were titled things like "I was a Teenage Sex Offender." There is no conceivable reason for this article, in this format and with this content to exist. Isn't there a sane mind at that paper who would have nixed this? If you want to make the point that not all sex offenders are ugly, aren't you saying in reverse that the crime is about sex? Isn't the crime about power and control?
