Comment of the Day: Bad Judgment on Sex Offenders
We have some great commenters here on Hair Balls, and it's time we paid some damn attention to them.
So we'll be highlighting a Comment of the Day each morning, from the previous day's work. Maybe two comments, even.
This will all be determined by a highly rigorous scientific formula involving wit, clarity and whatever else we feel like at the moment.
A lot of people DID NOT LIKE, with capital letters, our item on the 10 Hottest Females on the Texas Sex Offender List. They also did not take to the idea that showing sex offenders all don't look like classic, stereotypical perverts might be worth doing. (Click here for a more expanded explanation and apology.)
One of the more reasoned takes came from a reader named Bee.
She wrote:
This is classless, if not cruel. Commending these women in any way - let alone on their looks - is no way to bring respect and focus to the issue of sexual assault: it's a cheap, tasteless act to get attention for this site.Though you've definitely achieved your goal of getting attention, unfortunately, you guys have also outed yourselves as purporters of triggering, hateful material. Richard Connelly should be proud of himself. What can we expect from him next, a top ten list focusing on the sexiest pedophiles? Disgusting.
