Ending months of increasingly frantic, nervous speculation by Prince William and (especially) Kate Middleton, Mayor Annise Parker has greatly eased their minds by officially writing a congratulatory letter, the last big hurdle before any Royal Wedding in London. Preparations for Friday's event can now proceed.

As this official photo shows, Parker signed the letter at Ye Olde Card Table, a historic Houston artifact that is nicely portable.
