Mark Steven Bauman: Texas's Latest Most Wanted Sex Offender Is One Snappy Dresser
A new name has been added to the Department of Public Safety's 10 Most Wanted Sex Offenders list and, more importantly, a new mugshot.

Instead of the usual bunch of unshaven, T-shirt-wearing fat guys staring blankly into the camera, DPS offers the stylish pose of one Mark Steven Bauman, 50, who might or might not be rocking an ascot but who in any case knows how to dress.
(And how to rape preteen girls, possess child pornography, smuggle aliens and write bad checks for child support, if the DPS is to be believed. But who's without fault?)
Bauman "was last seen in the Austin area in the summer of 2010 and has strong ties to Mexican and Central American immigrant communities in the Austin area," DPS says. He speaks Spanish frequently and uses Spanish-language matchmaking sites.
He no doubt scores big on the sites -- the confident eyes, the hip haircut, the leather jacket....be still our hearts.
DPS describes him as "a white male, 5 feet 11 inches, 170 pounds and has used the aliases Mark Stephen Bauman, Marcos Bauman and Stephen Bauman. He should be considered armed and dangerous."
In 2002, DPS says, Bauman sexually assaulted a seven-year-old girl over a six-month period. The agency is offering a $3,000 reward for information leading to his arrest; here's the link.
