Jose Zerate Brings (Sex) Toys to Meet Kids at Hotel, Cops Say
A man who met a woman online and insisted she bring along two young children she babysat to a hotel rendezvous arrived on the scene carrying sex toys and was arrested, KPRC is reporting.

A spokesperson for the Harris County District Attorney's Office tells Hair Balls no probable-cause hearing has been conducted, so details are not available in court documents, but Jose Fernando Salas Zerate, 38, is in jail on two charges of attempted aggravated sexual assault of a child.
The station says Zerate met a north Harris County woman through an online dating site, and after several chats "the woman told Zerate about 5- and 6-year-old boys she babysits. Over several weeks, Zerate became insistent on meeting the woman and the children, investigators said."
The woman contacted authorities after he proposed meeting her and the children at an Airtex Drive motel, and constables from Precinct 4 arranged a sting.
The man traveled to the hotel by taxi on Monday, investigators said. He was carrying several sex-related items, detectives said.
Bond has been set at $80,000 on each of the charges, the DA's spokesperson said. Zerate is expected to appear in court tomorrow.
