City Council Redistricting Map: Montrose and the Heights, (Somewhat) Together

redistrictmapUSE.jpg
The official map of proposed city council redistricting came out this morning, and the big news is new District J, which would combine much of Montrose and the Heights to create an almost painfully hip, edgy, so-cool-it-hurts district.

Anyone repping this one better be driving a hybrid, is all we can say.

The hearing introducing Mayor Annise Parker's proposal is still going on, and there will be the first of a series of public hearings April 13 (schedule here.)

The city is adding two new single-member districts as a result of the 2010 Census.

Sorry, whaa, but your screen name is the sound Culberson will be making when we move him. We stay, he goes, the end.

If Montrose could only get the heck out of John Culberson's congressional district..... We like Long Islands and all, but not Culberson's cup of TeaParty.

I hope city council gives the District E councilman a generous car/mileage allowance. He will need it driving between Kingwood and Clear Lake.

They could call it the "Lake District."

I love how they engineered District G to gay-marry the Memorial-area millionaires with the River Oaks billionaires.

That whole district looks like a closeted Republican phallus awkwardly inserted into District J's orifice.

G-Money likes J's art museums, stylists, and fancy cocktails. Does not like J's Jay civil rights.

District A might have the rare privilege of being represented by someone in ACTUAL jackboots. That'd be a neat visual.
