Shelia Jackson Lee is a real patriot. I have known her for more than 30years and she is the strongest supporter of the American people that I know. You who criticize herbetter walk a day in her shoes. She is a constitutional lawyer and knowswhereof she speaks. I also worked for the legendary Barbara Jordon who preceeded Rep. Jackson. THis congressional seat has also been held by Micky Leland. This District was the first opportunity for people of color to have a representative of their choice in the State of Texas since reconstruction after the civil war. Christians and jews and muslims have been working in harmony in this congressional district and in texas for decades. This hearing could have really dealt with all of the terrorism threats to this nation, anti-semites, racists,disaffected young men,anti-muslims,etc,etc. I applaud the congresswoman.
Sheila Jackson Lee typically wins the award for "Dumbest Buffoon in Congress", but has been challenged for that prestigious position by such luminaries as Jon Carry, Hank Johnson, Barbara Boxer, and the irascible Maxine Waters who proffered the CIA introduced crack cocaine into Los Angeles to hurt black people.
If Lee is the "strongest supporter of the American people", tell that buffoon to represent only the idiots in her own district that return her to Congress. We don't need her help nor want anything from a person who still believes NASA planted the American Flag on Mars, or still believes Vietnam is a divided country. SJL is a congenital idiot!

I hate Sheila Jackson-Lee with every ounce of my being and I think that was a fantastic speech.
I applaud her honesty at calling out the bigoted nature of the panel. People might think she's self-involved or putting on theatrics, but she expressed the views of a lot of folks: this is appalling and does nothing to strengthen Muslim American ties.
