For the second year in a row, Alief Taylor High School students are totally going to have a sick prom. All the school had to do was make students ditch their schoolwork and 86 part of their spring break to stuff the virtual ballot box.

The public high school, an approximately 2,750-student institution located in unincorporated Harris County in the Alief Independent School District, has been awarded a share of the $10,000 prize from Stumps' Proms Across America Contest. Alief Taylor also took home the competition's grand prize in 2010.

About the way epic victory, Kimberly Schultz, Alief Taylor's prom adviser, seemed totally stoked.

"During three days of state testing when our Class of 2011 did not have to test, our seniors sat in the computer labs and voted over and over again," says Schultz. "The underclassmen also helped out when we had two after school pizza voting parties where we picked up 4,000 votes in only one hour of voting each time. During the last week of voting, our seniors gave up hours of their own spring break and kept voting!"

LOLZ!

The school also enlisted the help of social media by getting all up in the grill of "YO HOUSE! YO SCHOOL! YO GRANNY HOUSE! ERRRWHERE!," according to the Facebook event page.

The competition, which is organized by Stumps (a.k.a. "America's prom and party favorite since 1926!"), is in its third year of doling out totally super rad prom prizes. More than five million votes were cast in the 2011 competition; the top three winners, which also included New York schools Edwards-Knox High and Downsville Central School, tallied 468,551 votes alone.

Thus far, we haven't heard if Mr. Belding will chaperone or if Donna Martin will show up completely shitfaced to Alief Taylor's shindig.

Speaking of Donna Martin . . .
