Jeff Foxworthy has another entry.
Keeping the kids happy while you're tying one on in the old trailer park can be a challenge. You can't run 'em down to Chuck E. Cheese because drunk driving with the kids in the car is a felony, so you have to give Lufkin-area mother-and-daughter Tammy Kay Burch, 45, of Zavalla, and Robyn Elizabeth Reeves, 27, credit for good sense on that score.

But not much else.

KTRE reports that on the evening of March 18, the two women are alleged to have come up with a novel way to amuse their young charges: They decided to allow a friend of theirs to do doughnuts in his truck right in front of their mobile home.

And we guess Burch and Reeves were more than a little taken by the spectacle themselves, because police say they lost track of the kids. The driver of the truck later told police that the kids slipped out of the house while he was shredding the yard and crept within 15-20 feet of his wheels, narrowly avoiding tragedy.

Police reported that Reeves was found to have a strong odor of alcoholic beverage on her person when they arrived on the scene. Both she and Burch were arrested and charged with child endangerment, a felony.

The driver of the truck has not yet been charged with a crime, as police have reported that he showed remorse for what could have happened, unlike Reeves. She and her mother were arrested on March 25. Child endangerment can be punished by as much as 20 years in prison.
