Comment of the Day: Hand Doctor Michael Brown and Tax Cuts

We have some great commenters here on Hair Balls, and it's time we paid some damn attention to them.

So we'll be highlighting a Comment of the Day each morning, from the previous day's work. Maybe two comments, even.

This will all be determined by a highly rigorous scientific formula involving wit, clarity and whatever else we feel like at the moment.

We reported on the divorce settlement between TV-ad star Michael Brown and his latest wife, which included -- despite him having declared bankruptcy five years ago -- her getting a Lamborghini, a Mercedes 550, Hummer, Escalade, limousine and a Maserati.

The brought out what Fox News would no doubt call the "class warfare" in one reader.

That's what a lot of you get for voting and keeping Republicans in office.You get bamboozzled and you never catch on. They promised you jobs and now they ha ve spent three months yapping about abortion and investigating, who is it this week? Oh, yeah, our Muslim citizens.They got this country into a war that at one time was costing us three billion dollars a month and now they busy cutting services... three dollars here, and eight dollars there.How pathetic can they get?

I completely agree with what the commenter was saying. A friend of mine is just getting into her second year of teaching and is terrified that they are going to have to lay her off due to all the cuts the district she is working for is having to make.

That comment is completely sane, as one discovers when driving around Riv Oaks, West U, Bellaire, and some of the other tonier burbs.

And then read the headlines about teacher layoffs and slashed HISD budgets. If you can call it class warfare, the Republicans fired the first volleys long ago. They are just now landing.
