Robbery leads to fatal shooting.
A westside man was shot and killed by two robbers Tuesday night, police say.

Antonio Ortega Carranza, 56, and his wife had arrived home in the 1400 block of Murrayhill Drive about 9:20 p.m. "after closing their nearby taqueria stands," HPD says.

They were confronted in the driveway by four men, who forced them both into the house. Carranza's wife was ordered to the floor, and he was taken to the garage, police say, as members of the group ransacked the house.

An altercation broke out in the garage; Carranza was shot several times and the group fled "with an unknown amount of cash," police say. Carranza was pronounced dead at the scene.

Anyone with information in this case is urged to contact the HPD Homicide Division at 713-308-3600 or Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.
