Robert Wade Prince: A-Hole Passenger Gets Six Months
A year ago we told you about Robert Wade Prince, an Alabama man arrested at Bush Intercontinental after getting drunk and disorderly on a Continental flight home from Amsterdam.
Robert Prince: A raft of bad ideas nets him six months
Prince not only hassled female flight attendants and passengers with inappropriate touching, he messed with an air marshal and threw a few racial epithets at him. You know, just to complete the a-hole trifecta of drunk, sexist and racist.
Today he pleaded guilty and was sentenced to six months in a federal prison.
Prince pleaded guilty to assault and to interfering with a flight crew on the February 2010 flight.
Prosecutors say an "investigation produced evidence establishing that from the beginning of the flight and after consuming several alcoholic beverages passenger Robert Wade Prince displayed loud and obnoxious behavior. A few hours into the flight, Prince grabbed the arm of a female flight attendant, causing her pain. When the attendant asked him to let go, he refused, stating, 'I just got back from the Middle East and I am not going to rape you.'"
Ummm, smooth?
Eventually an air marshal identified himself and told Prince to calm down. Cleverly assessing the situation, Prince decided to amp his act up. Eventually it got physical, and he was handcuffed and taken to the back of the plane.
At that point, the question was: Could he dig his hole any deeper? The answer: Hell, yes.
"Prince became even more disruptive, yelling offensive racial slurs at the air marshal for the remainder of the flight," prosecutors say.
That must have been enjoyable for the other passengers.
Prince was also fined $10,000.
